PinMAME (former VWPC MAME) |
Visual WPC MAME is an exciting software that will
integrate Visual Pinball and WPC Mame. Steve and Tom (WPC developers) are working together
with Randy to make this possible.
Here's a post from Steve on the VP forum:
"WPCMAME emulates the WPC hardware used in Williams Pinball machines from 1990-1998.
Earlier games used other hardware such as System 11, 7, 6, etc... That hardware has not
been emulated, therefore, you can only run pinball games created to run on the wpc
hardware platform.. The sound hardware is fully emulated (although is still not 100%
correct). The current version, now has .wav file support to play solenoid or other
mechanical sounds.

The emulator accurately reproduces the Alpha or DMD display, Sound, Music, and
Lamps from the real Williams ROMS for all WPC pinball machines. The only thing missing
from actually being able to play near perfect versions of your favorite WPC pinball
machines on your computer are the table layouts!!
Randy, myself, and another fellow WPCMAME dev member are currently working on getting
WPCMAME emulation to work with Visual Pinball.. This means that you would simply design
the table visually, copy the wpcmame implementation code, and basically, the table would
play just like the real game, with full display, sound effects, and music (provided by
wpcmame).. "
