Special Feature: Tables in Progress |
Last update: March 27, 2001
When a designer starts to work on a new table, he/she usually posts a picture on the
Visual Pinball forum to get some early feedback. I've collected some of those pictures to
show them on this page.
The pictures are only from unreleased tables. Some of these tables are been worked hard
right now by its designers and will be released soon. Some were just experiments and might
never be released. Others were put on hold because they might be converted to PinMame.
Anyway, whatever the case, it's good to take a look at what these designers have started
to create.
Note: I'm only publishing screenshots posted on the forum, since they are public. There
are however links to the designer's website where you can check updated screenshots and
screenshots from games not shown here. Also, if you are a designer of one of the tables
featured here and you'd like to give some update on your work, feel free to e-mail me or
post a message on the VP forum under the thread "Special Feature: Tables in
Progress".

Black is one of the top VP designers and have provide us
with the first VP conversion from a real table, which was Black Knight 2000. Besides
putting a lot of work and effort to bring us an accurate conversion from the game, Black
have also recreated the Williams display driver that is used by many designers on other
tables. While Black Knight 2000 is been finished, Black is starting to work on his next
game: Williams Earthshaker. Check Black's website for updates on his current work:

I haven't seen posts from Rock in a while, but he was a
good contributor back when the forum started. He managed to reproduce the layout of
Williams Medieval Madness (including the castle) . Last information I have on this table
is that it's been prepared to be converted to WPCMame (now called PinMame).

This was posted a while ago by Crono3. We haven't heard
much from the author since then but I think he still working on it. The game looks exactly
like the original Epic table with a 3d feel to it. Since many people have played the
original game, there was some anticipation on the release of this table.

Another computer pinball conversion. Beat Box was one of
the tables featured in the Pinball Dreams package. Again, the game looks exactly like the
original and we can see that a lot of work was put to recreate the ramps. I don't know
what the current state of Beat Box is but lio has started to work on Black Knight (the
original game from the early eighties) which seems very promising. You can check
screenshots from Black Knight and updated screenshots from Beat Box at his website:

Laurence has posted this screenshot a while ago but we
didn't have more updates since then, the table looks really good though. Recently,
Laurence has started working on Capcom's Big Bang Bar a game that is surrounded by mystic
since the game never went to production but everybody seems to say it's the best pinball
game Capcom has ever made. Laurence has set up a website to provide information about his
creations and in the future it will also provide information about PinMame. Also, on his
website you can see the latest screenshot of Big Bang Bar, check it out:

Update: Harley Davidson was released
on March 22, 2001.
